L-Com Connectivity Product - Single Port CAT-5 Midspan PoE

L-COM CONNECTIVITY's BTD-CAT5-P1 is a single-port CAT 5 PoE injector that provides DC power for one PoE-equipped device. It is compatible with AP's and other equipment supporting the IEEE standard PoE pinouts.<lt/>br<gt/><lt/>br<gt/>This unit can be used as either an "Injector" or as a "Tap." When used as an injector the device sends DC power through the Ethernet cable to a remote PoE device. When used as a "Tap" this unit taps the injected DC power from the Ethernet cable for use by certain non-PoE devices. The integral lightning and surge protection individually protects the 4 data lines as well as protection for the power lines. High speed devices clamp any voltage, positive or negative on the wires. The limits are +/- 15 V on pins, 1, 2, 3, 6 and +/- 58 V on pins, 4, 5, 7, and 8.<lt/>br<gt/><lt/>br<gt/>The BTD-CAT5-P1 features shielded RJ45 jacks. This along with the BTD-CAT5-P1's metal housing helps reduce the effects of EMI interference. A ground lug and terminal is provided directly on the injector's cast aluminum housing providing superior grounding.<lt/>br<gt/><lt/>br<gt/>This unit can be mounted to a DIN 3 rail using the DIN mounting clip located on the rear of the unit.

Why hasnt anyone thought of this before. Anyone that has installed POE powered IP phones or IP cameras has probably had a need for something like this. POE Powered 2 Port Unmanaged Switch: This device will take an incoming POE power source to be powered and act as a standard 2 Port POE switch. Has 1 port in and 2 Ports out. Useful if you want to take an incoming POE signal sent through one cable and be split out to power 2 cameras at once.
